Brent Venables is an excellent bet to win college football's coach of the year award. Last year, Oklahoma finished 6-7. This year, the Sooners may double their win total. FanDuel has Oklahoma's odds to go undefeated at +125. Here's the rest of their schedule.
10/21 - UCF
10/28 - @Kansas
11/4 - @Oklahoma State
11/11 - West Virginia
11/18 - @BYU
11/24 - TCU
Currently, Oklahoma is top 7 in offense and defense nationally, and that should not change, considering their schedule. The Sooners look like a dominant conference winner that drastically exceeded pre-season expectations. Venable's Sooners also started at #20 in the AP Poll, well below DeBoer's Huskies (#10) and Norvell's Seminoles (#8). (Kalen DeBoer and Mike Norvell are currently the favorites at +300 and +600, respectively.) If the Huskies win out, DeBoer looks like the guy. Regardless, Venables's odds should not be +1200. His chances of winning the award are not 7.7%. Bet it now on DraftKings at +1200, and if you get cold feet later, you'll likely be in a good position to hedge.
